We were thrilled to participate in the morning program La Aventura del Saber on La 2 of RTVE, where we had the opportunity to present our collaboration with the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC).
During the program, we highlighted the vital role of the BSC in advancing artificial intelligence technologies, particularly their development of a predictive AI model designed to more accurately assess the risk of stroke. Our group’s principal investigator, Dr. Israel Fernández Cadenas, explained in simple terms what a stroke is and the serious consequences it can have for individuals and their families.
Adding to the discussion, our postdoctoral researcher, Dr. Cristina Gallego, delved into the AI model, which leverages ECG measurements to determine a person’s risk of experiencing a stroke. This innovative approach represents a significant step toward improving early detection and prevention strategies for cerebrovascular diseases.
This appearance allowed us to showcase the importance of clinical validation for AI models. By combining cutting-edge computational tools with robust clinical assessments, this collaboration aims to bring transformative improvements in stroke risk evaluation and healthcare outcomes.

We are grateful for the opportunity to share our work with a broader audience and for the platform to raise awareness about the importance of integrating AI into clinical settings to address major health challenges like stroke.
