Laia Llucià has been awarded funding as co-principal investigator in a multicenter project selected through the Collaborative Projects for Emerging Researchers call of the RICORS-Ictus network, funded by the Instituto de Salud Carlos III and co-funded by the European Union.
Despite being systematically underrepresented in clinical research, an important proportion of minor stroke patients develop Post-Stroke Cognitive Impairment (PSCI). The MIND project addresses this gap through a combined clinical, radiological, and proteomic approach, aiming to characterise the molecular pathways underlying PSCI in minor strokes, identify early biomarkers for patients at high cognitive risk, and explore drug repurposing strategies to reduce the burden of cognitive decline after stroke.
