On February 29th, World Rare Disease Day was observed worldwide, drawing attention to the challenges faced by individuals living with rare diseases. Among these conditions is CADASIL (Cerebral Autosomal Dominant Arteriopathy with Subcortical Infarcts and Leukoencephalopathy), a rare genetic disorder affecting the brain’s blood vessels.

To mark the occasion, our team of dedicated researchers focused on CADASIL, consisting of neurologist Elena Muiño and predoctoral researcher Paula Villatoro, took part in an informative session held in the hall of the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau. Their aim was to raise awareness and promote scientific understanding of this complex disease.
